Narooma Kinema is a heritage listed building with a certain charm that has welcomed people through the doors since 1928. Mainstream, arthouse and independent films are screened and live shows and performances are hosted. A must-see attraction in Narooma! And don't forget to enjoy our infamous homemade choctops.

The name 'Kinema' comes from the Greek meaning
"moving" - hence  moving pictures.  However, it wasn't unusual to see Cinemas named Kinemas  prior to the 1950's -over time the "K" became a "C".

John and Janette were  recently presented with OAM by Governor General His Excellency The Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove for services to the NSW  south coast community.  What an amazing day very humbled to receive this honour. It has been a pleasure serving the community for 17 years and watching the Kinema develop and grow into an icon which is appreciated by so many. We would like to thank everyone for the wonderful  support over the years in particular our family, our staff, our Film Society Volunteers, and School of Arts.
